Ketchum Suspension Bridge official opening activities update
On Thursday, November 6 at 11 am, the TCCA Board will be hosting a brief event at the bridge to recognize the major donors and government agencies that made the bridge replacement project possible.
On Saturday, November 8 the TCCA would like to invite everyone to celebrate the opening of the bridge!
At 10:30 There will be a walk across the new bridge.
Then for those who are interested, Colleen Dowe will lead a short hike along a small portion of the Chignecto Trail (The hike is approximately 3.5 km over a rugged but relatively flat trail finishing at the Community Centre). Anyone wishing to participate in the bridge walk or the hike should meet at the Ketchum Drive Entrance to the bridge at 10:15
At 12 noon everyone is invited to a free BBQ at the community centre to celebrate the conclusion of the bridge replacement project.

One-hour fitness classes run every Monday and Thursday at 9 am, at the Hall. These classes are led by volunteers Andrea Chappell, and Marcella Andres - both certified instructors with the N.S.F.A. We're also welcoming back Heather McClinton!
There are a range of exercises for cardio, strength, and flexibility, all good for your heart, lungs, movement and spirits! 🫀🫁🧠🚶♀️
We mix it up in classes with weights, bands, fitness balls, chairs and mats.
Everyone is welcome, and we encourage working at your own level and pace, giving alternatives and options to accommodate your needs. It's a welcoming and fun group, so join us!
The cost is $3 each class, pay as you go. All monies are donated back to the TCCA!
A new 10 week session will start on Monday, October 6 at the Tidnish Crossroads Community Centre from 7-8pm and will continue up until December 15(or later if sessions have to be made up due to weather, illness and the like).
Sherry Smith and Donna Fitzpatrick will continue to take turns leading the sessions and covering for each other when the other is away.
As in the past money raised will be split between the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help turn the tide of Aids in Africa(see www.StephenLewisFoundation.org for more information) and the Tidnish Crossroads Community Association which offers so many wonderful programs in our community.
Suggested donation remains at $40 for all ten sessions and an income tax receipt for the $20 portion that goes to the SLF will be sent out by that organization before years end.
If $$$ are tight and preventing you from attending please touch base as you are more than welcome!
These sessions are beginner level and you do not have to have yoga experience to attend. To quote Krishnamacharya, often known as the father of modern yoga, “if you can breathe, you can do yoga”. So just come, do what you can, use a chair if you need to and breathe through the rest! These sessions are about caring for yourself through yoga and relaxation.
If you have any questions or would like to register, please email Donna at fitzmurd@gmail.com
Thanks and Namaste, Donna and Sherry
