TCCA Annual General Meeting 2022

Picture
After two years of cancellation due to COVID, the 2022 AGM for the Tidnish Crossroads Community Association took place on Thursday May 12, 2022.
Thirty members participated in the meeting this year which started shortly after 7pm. The 2019 AGM minutes were read by board member Jack Brown.
Left to Right:  Angela Marks Secretary, Blair Andres Vice-President, Jack Brown Board Member and Nancy Baxter Treasurer. Due to an illness, President Rod Gilroy was not present.
The highlight of the evening was the Lifetime Volunteer award which went to June Estabrooks for all of her years of helping the community. The lifetime builder award went to Lee Weir who was not in attendance. Congratulations to both winners.
Everyone got to meet Jay & Samantha Robinson who run the Amherst Shore Country Store. Jay gave a little speech on what their plans are for the store.
NOTICE: As this was the annual general meeting it is that time of year for membership renewals. Each membership is five dollars. You can send a cheque to Nancy or if paying by e-transfer put in the comment field who it is for, how many years and if adding a donation.
A big Thank You to everyone who attended the meeting. It is greatly apperiated by the board. With COVID still active we did not know how many or if anyone would attend.

TCCA Yard Sale Recap

Picture
Posted May 9th, 2022
A beautiful but cool sunny morning greeted everyone on Saturday May 7th for the first TCCA yard sale in over two years at the Tidnish Crossroads Community Centre.
After many volunteers spent several hours setting up on Friday, the doors opened at 9am as a crowd was gathering outside. Over the next four hours many items upstairs and down including baked goods found new homes and at the end of the sale at 1pm we had made over two thousand dollars to be split between the Community Center and a local Ukraine Fund.
The TCCA would like to thank the following volunteers who helped out with the setup, running and cleaning up of the hall after the event.
Blair & Marcella Andres who did the prep work and recruted all the volunteers who participated, Rod Gilroy for suppling most of the items for sale,
Cathy M. Hunter, Andrea Chappell, Jocelyn & Brian Bickford, Diana Goodwin, Marie Ouimet, Elaine Stevens, Shelly Tanner, Margie Burke, Robert Chambers,
Jack Brown and Bill Dowe. If I missed anyone, my apologies.
A big Thank You to everyone who attended the event, bought some of the items and made donations throughout the day. Without all of you this would not have been possible.
The association is hoping to have another Yard Sale in early June before the Father's Day breakfast on June 19th.
NOTICE: There are hundreds of books at the Community hall. If anyone has any use or know of anyone looking for books, get them to contact me at jimve1jbl@gmail.com and I can open the building so you can gather them up. For anyone opening a cottage or camp for the season, there are also a few big items left in the basement for sale including a large dresser with mirror, computer table, (2) metal bed frames, coffee and end tables, round dining room table and a double set of beautiful cupboards that are very rustic and very heavy. See pictures below.
