Relaxation using Yoga
These sessions are beginner level and you do not have to be an experienced yogi to attend. To quote Krishnamacharya, often known as the father of modern yoga, “if you can breathe, you can do yoga”. So just come, do what you can and breathe through the rest! If you’re planning on attending please send me an email so I have an idea of how many will be attending and if you have any questions please send them along as well.

A ten week session of Relaxation Using Yoga Poses will start on Monday, February 6th at the Tidnish Crossroads Community Centre from 7-8pm and will continue for ten weeks until April 10th. We will continue to wear masks as we enter the community centre and when we are off our yoga mats as the dreaded COVID is still out there looking for victims and because we have some immunocompromised individuals in our group we want to do our best to keep everyone safe. Once we start the session it is up to you whether or not you keep your mask on or off. Sherry Smith and myself will continue to take turns leading the sessions and covering for each other when the other is away. As in the past money raised will be split between the Stephen Lewis Foundation to help turn the tide of Aids in Africa (see www.stephenlewisfoundation.org for more information) and the Tidnish Crossroads Community Association which offers so many wonderful programs in our community. Suggested donation continues to be $40 for all ten sessions and an income tax receipt for the $20 portion that goes to the SLF will be sent out by that foundation before years’s end. So just come, do what you can, use a chair if you need to and breathe through the rest! These sessions are about caring for yourself through yoga and relaxation.
PLEASE NOTE: This session is now full and therefore will not be advertised on our Facebook page but if for any reason between now and February 6 you realize that you cannot make these sessions please let me know as there may be others who want to join. Also the $40 can be sent via e-transfer to this email address later in the month/early February or you can pay by cheque or cash when you arrive on Feb. 6th. In case of bad whether, which could very likely happen in February/March and April then you will be contacted by email if the session is cancelled so please check your email on those days.
